Soaps

Why handcrafted soap?

Handcrafted soap is soap in its most pure and true form.  Making soap is both a science and an art.  True soaps are a result of a chemical reaction between vegetable or animal fats, water and lye.  When combined, they transform into soap and glycerin with no lye remaining in the soap.  Glycerine is a humectant — it attracts and retains moisture on your skin.  It is like a natural skin lotion in the soap!  Most commercial soapmaking processes strip the naturally occurring glycerine from the soap, process it, and resell it to be used in cosmetics and other products.  My handcrafted soap retains the glycerin, and is pure and more hydrating than commercial soaps made in large factories (often located overseas).

Our soaps are crafted one loaf at a time, assuring high quality, using the cold process method.  Our ingredients in our soaps for every body are:

Rice Bran Oil – High in vitamins A and E.  Coconut Oil – Provides rich lather and adds hardness to each bar.  Palm Oil – Gives soap a smooth texture and provides lather.  Castor Oil – for super fatting and extra conditioning.  Botanicals:  Ground oatmeal; Yerba Mate’ tea leaves; finely ground orange peel; apricot seed powder; Australian red reef clay; poppy seeds; lavender buds; alkanet; pumice; or ground walnut shells to exfoliate the skin.  Scents:  All natural essential oils and/or skin safe fragrance oils.

NOTE:   DUE TO INCREASED SHIPPING COSTS, A MINIMUM OF THREE BARS PER ORDER!

Essential Oil Soaps

Doggie Soap – $8.50 per bar.  What is Doggie Soap?  It is a wonderful product that has citronella essential oil in it, which insects hate.  Since we use the same base oils as our people soap, it conditions your dog’s coat and skin.  For every bar sold, we donate $1.00 to the SPCA.  And yes, it has been tested on HUMANS!  Campers love this soap as no-see-ums and mosquitos also avoid the scent.

Lavender – $9.50 per bar.  Calming before bedtime, a rich, creamy lather, and ground oatmeal for gentle exfoliating.  Our best seller.

Lemongrass and Pumice –  $8.50 per bar.  Perfect in the kitchen for scrubbing hands after cutting up onion or garlic, or after working in the garden.

Myrrh – $11.50 per bar.  Natural properties that offer anti-fungal and anti-bacterials.  People with irritable skin love this soap.

Orange and Clove  – $8.50 per bar.  Rich spice scent with orange peel and poppy seeds for exfoliation.

Patchouli – $9.50 per bar.  Earthy, cedar wood fragrance with ground oatmeal, for both men and women.

Peppermint – $9.50 per bar.  Invigorating; a stimulating way to wake up.
